Prescription drugs simply cover up the problem temporarily. Pain pills, even over-the-counter medications, don’t fix the cause of your problem. They may be necessary for an emergency, but using them long-term is no way to live. Many of these pain medications are addicting and have very real side effects. By using the latest diagnostic technology, we will get to the root of your neck pain. Our goal is to not only provide immediate relief but also long-term solutions.
Understanding Pinched Nerves: A Guide to Chiropractic Care
A pinched nerve can be a painful and debilitating condition, but with the right treatment, relief is possible. Chiropractic care is an effective and safe way to alleviate symptoms and address the underlying issue.
What is a Pinched Nerve?
A pinched nerve is a condition where pressure is placed on a nerve by surrounding tissues, such as bones, cartilage, muscles, or tendons. This can cause pain, tingling, numbness, or weakness in the affected area of the body.
Imagine a busy highway, and suddenly a car breaks down and blocks one lane. The traffic on the highway slows down, and some cars may need to take a detour to avoid the blockage. Similarly, when a nerve is pinched, the nerve impulses slow down, and the body may experience pain or other symptoms.
How Can Chiropractic Care Help?
Chiropractors are trained to identify the root cause of the pinched nerve by performing a thorough examination to assess the extent of the condition. They use non-invasive and drug-free treatments to alleviate the symptoms and restore normal nerve function.
Chiropractic adjustments involve the use of gentle, targeted force to remove any interference from the nervous system. The chiropractor carefully manipulates the affected joint, stretching and mobilizing it to reduce pressure on the nerve.
Along with adjustments, chiropractors may recommend stretching exercises and lifestyle modifications to relieve stress on the body, promote healing, and prevent future pinched nerves.
Common Misconceptions
One common misconception about chiropractic care is that it is painful or dangerous. However, chiropractic adjustments are gentle and safe, and the majority of patients experience relief from their symptoms without any adverse effects.
Another concern people may have is that chiropractic care is not covered by insurance. However, many insurance plans cover chiropractic care, and many chiropractors offer flexible payment plans for those without insurance coverage.
Conclusion
If you are experiencing pain, tingling, or numbness, it may be time to consider chiropractic care for relief. A pinched nerve can cause discomfort and hinder your quality of life, but with chiropractic care, you can feel better and return to your daily activities.
Don't let a pinched nerve hold you back any longer. Contact your local chiropractor to schedule a consultation and see how chiropractic care can help you.

What Causes Headaches and Migraines?
Headaches can be triggered by many different factors including foods, environmental stimuli (noises, lights, stress, etc.) excessive exercise, and blood sugar changes. About 5% of all headaches are warning signals caused by physical problems. We have found that most headaches, despite severity, are also associated with dysfunction of the cervical spine (neck).
Causes of Neck Tension
What is Facet Syndrome?
Facet syndrome is a condition in which the joints in the back of the spine degenerate and subsequently cause pain.
The facet joints are found at every level on both sides of the lumbar spine. They provide about 20 percent of the twisting stability in the low back. Each facet joint is positioned at each level of the spine to provide the needed support, especially with rotation. Facet joints also prevent each vertebra from slipping over the one below. A small capsule surrounds each facet joint providing a nourishing lubricant for the joint.
Also, each joint has a rich supply of tiny nerve fibers that provide a painful stimulus when the joint is injured or irritated. Inflamed facets can cause a powerful muscle spasm. Facet joints are almost in constant motion with the spine and it is quite common for them to simply wear out in many patients. When facet joints become worn or torn, the cartilage may become thin or disappear.
The bone in the joint underneath can produce an overgrowth of bone spurs and an enlargement of the joints. When that happens, we say the joint has arthritic changes, or osteoarthritis, which can produce considerable back pain when a person moves. This condition may also be referred to as facet joint disease, or facet joint syndrome.

Pediatric Chiropractic Care
Why would an infant need chiropractic care? Birth itself can cause misalignments in a child’s spine that interfere with the nervous system functioning as it should. After that, the child crawls, falls and partakes in many other activities that can further aggravate the spine and interfere with the child’s health. By treating these problems right away, we can improve your child’s health now and into adulthood.
